Management - Function

Meaning of Management:

                                     Management is defined art, act or manner of managing, handling, controlling, motivating, and directing the employee to achieve the desire goals of the organisation.

                                    Management is the process of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling the efforts of organization staff or members and of using all other resources to achieve organizational goals”.

Function of management:

                                              The basic function of the organisation is as follows,


                        

1.     Planning :

It is the basic function of management. It refers to a preview of future activities. It is the process of deciding in advance what to do, how to do, when to do and who does what.

2.     Organising:

It is the process of identification and grouping of work to be performed. Organising as a process involved: Setting objective, Identify activities, group activity, Position or designation, Delegation of authority and interrelationship.

3.     Staffing:

It refers to the managerial function of employing and developing of human resources. It’s involved manpower planning, recruiting, selecting, training and developing the people for various positing creating in the organisation.

4.     Leading:

It’s also called directing. Its involved supervision, motivation, leadership and communication.

5.     Controlling:

Control is an effective process involving three elements; standards, evaluation and correctness. It has following five step: Determine area of control, established standard, measurement of actual performance, comparison and corrective action.
